English-language resource
This Teacher's Guide provides suggestions for exploring the novel Gabriel Between Dog and Wolf. Each activity can be used on its own or combined with one or several others. The study of the characters and the novel’s plot line is approached from several angles. The guide’s activities are designed to develop self-expression, self-knowledge and self-esteem as well as an understanding and appreciation of First Nations and Métis cultures and their important contribution to the development of our country. The Teacher's Guide also includes a reproduction of an authentic first-source document - a contract of African-American voyageur, Pierre Bonga, dated 1815.
