Bons comptes, bons amis is a collection of 12 books for youth ages 9 to 12 that address financial literacy and citizenship education to promote personal and community success.

Mr. Poirier asks his students to find out what taxes are for. Each of the friends goes home to ask their parents, for whom taxes seem to be an irritating topic. It is only when they return to school that it becomes clear to the friends why taxes are important.
